Yesterday in Ethics we were discussing the difference between "art" and "porn".
I used an example of a particular painting that very conservative people would say has crossed the line. Of course, my students wanted to know how it crossed the line.
In order not to be too explicit, I explained that if the women in the painting were wearing jumpsuits, one could be described as having "camel toe".
Of course, I used the reference because I knew most of my students would get it -- and if they didn't, a neighbor would explain...
but -- after class, I found myself explaining the concept to a non-traditional female Hmong student.
Now, she can't say she didn't learn anything in MY class....
I'm so proud.
