Sometimes I think I shouldn't ask these questions...

.. but, about 38% of my students answered "true" to "attending every class is sufficient to pass the class".

Either they don't understand the term "sufficient" OR they think just coming to class = passing...

...eek!

I do an on-line syllabus quiz. In my syllabus it explicitly says that just coming to class is not sufficient...

The beautiful thing is that I can look to see who answered the question wrong :).
