The RNC and me...

I have quite a few students who are being ordered to work at the Republican National Convention... they are cops, National Gard Members and even an employee of the parks department.

I'm not particularly fond of Republicans in general -- so the fact that some of these folks will miss two weeks of classes right at the beginning doesn't make me happy....

Can't they claim to be conscientious objectors or something? I mean, of the Bushies think that doctors can refuse to offer contraceptive services on moral grounds, why not public employees?

I am only partly kidding.

Wow - the creep and impact of the Republican Party into the educational environment really angers me. It's so unethical! You could use it as a topic in your courses!

Did you know that the party itself actually funds the student clubs on campuses, including our own?

Our job: to combat brainwashing! It's not easy in the light of free stuff, promises of power, and the politics of fear.

Now that's really a shame. I feel bad for those students, too.
